1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using BigQuery Studio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
BigQuery Studio is a native macOS desktop application that provides a graphical interface for interacting with Google BigQuery. The App allows users to:
- Connect to Google Cloud projects using OAuth 2.0 or Service Account authentication
- Browse datasets, tables, and views
- Write and execute SQL queries
- Export query results in various formats
- Save and organize SQL scripts locally
- View scheduled queries and data quality scans
The App runs entirely on the user's local device and communicates directly with Google Cloud APIs.
3. Google Cloud Usage and Costs
BigQuery Studio is a client application that connects to your Google Cloud project. All BigQuery queries, API calls, and data processing are executed against your own Google Cloud account and project.
- You are solely responsible for any costs incurred by queries executed through the App, including BigQuery on-demand query pricing, storage costs, and any other Google Cloud charges.
- The App provides optional cost estimation (dry-run) features, but these are approximations only and should not be relied upon as exact billing figures.
- The developer of BigQuery Studio is not responsible for any charges on your Google Cloud account resulting from use of the App.
4. Authentication and Credentials
- You are responsible for the security of your Google account credentials and Service Account key files.
- OAuth tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. Service Account key files are stored locally.
- You should not share your credentials or allow unauthorized access to your device while signed in to the App.
- You can revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account settings.
5. Intellectual Property
BigQuery Studio, including its design, code, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Diego Valladares. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose.
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
- Redistribute, sublicense, or sell the App
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of query results
The developer does not warrant that the App will be compatible with all system configurations or Google Cloud project setups.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Diego Valladares shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or data corruption
- Unexpected Google Cloud charges or billing overages
- Unauthorized access resulting from compromised credentials
- Business interruption or loss of profits
In no event shall the total liability exceed the amount paid for the App (if any).
8. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure that you have the necessary permissions and IAM roles on the Google Cloud projects you access
- Keep your credentials secure and report any unauthorized use
- Not use the App to access data or projects you are not authorized to access
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how the App handles your information.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and revoking its access from your Google Account. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
